I really like the latin back beat. This is pretty good, though not fantastic, the melody part, that sounds like accordion, I don't really like the sound. I'm not sure what your choices are with whatever software you use, but I would have chosen a different instrument.
Author's Response:
That's okay. As long as it sounds latin, I'm fine. They use a latin accordian in the original; I used a regular accordian.

The fanfare-ish wind parts sort of overpowered the soothing piano part, and made it less mellow; little too harsh. Still though, all-in-all, well done.

Umm, you get an A for effort, but the harmony is all wrong. Listening to this was kind of painful, especially because I love this song so much. You should have taken more care with this one.
Author's Response:
Well you seem to be the only one that thinks so, but thanks for the critisism. Also, the harmony is not wrong. I remixed parts of it and changed the key of the entire song.

This did no justice to the original Ballad of the Windfish. All you accomplished with this was recreating the melody. The song in the game was composed of 8 instrumental parts, while this was bland and unoriginal. I was genuinely depressed listening to this, because I expected so much better.
Author's Response:
It the magic of strings album....just strings only. I have another one of these somewhere.
Thanks for your review anyway. :)

You recreated the melody correctly, so good job on that. What bothers me about this is how the notes are staccato, very 8-bit style. But the instruments you use are not 8-bit style, and it doesn't quite fit for me.

This is excellent! The range in tone spreads from the peaceful flute part to the vigorous trumpet fanfare, and flows throughout. I also really like the sort of haunting bass part at 1:01, just before the fanfare. You did some amazing work w/ this.

Wow, this is the coolest remix I've heard. Ever. Somehow, you got everything to flow, and all of the different parts make sense, nothing sounds out of place or shoved in. The beginning is really fantastic; love that piano intro.

This was just awesome, that you took something so 'out there' and turned it into a sweet remix. Not much more to say. Good job!

This makes me want to pull out the gamecube and play Wind Waker! You kept it true to the original, and also the balance is very good. I approve!

Wow, this was really cool! A great Zelda remix, to be sure. My only complaint would be that the synth sounds kind of harsh in comparison to the excellent piano arrangement. By the way, I can picture a skate routine to this, so I'm sure it was mission accomplished!
